What we did
G.E.E. replaced the existing gas heating system with a cascaded ASHP installation connecting into the school’s existing underfloor heating network. Works included a technically complex crane-lift of heat pump units to roof level, primary pipework from roof to plant room, new buffer tanks, and electrical upgrades throughout.
Technologies installed
- 3 × 65 kW M65 Air Source Heat Pumps (195 kW total)
- New buffer tanks in plant room for hydraulic separation
- Primary pipework from roof level to plant room
- Integration into existing underfloor heating system
- Suspended ceiling insulation and electrical upgrades
Key challenges and programme management
- Crane-lift programme for roof-mounted ASHP units requiring structural assessment and coordination
